Rosemary Coates grew up in West Berkshire where she hunted with the Garth and South Berks Foxhounds, and the Palmer Milburn Beagles. She studies Fine Art at The Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing in Oxford, and found time to beagle with the Christ Church and Farley Hill Beagles.
She moved with her parents for a brief time to Hannington in Hampshire and was grateful to the Masters and Hunt staff of the Vine and Craven for allowing her to go into kennels to draw the hounds.
Rosemary does animal portrait commissions in oils, watercolours and pastels. She has published maps (limited editions). Currently available are; UK foxhunting, Beagle and Harriers, 6 Fell Packs, UK Racing, Irish Foxhunting, Irish Racing and has other prints for sale. She has undertaken individual commissioned maps for hunts and has done 35 to date including two in Ireland and one on the U.S.A.
As well as original paintings for sale, Rosemary has produced cards, some depicting her paintings and others of a more humorous vein.
